One Direction Battle: Harry vs Niall vs Liam vs Louis vs Zayn

And they have all released their solo albums. Now it’s time to rank the individual songs of Harry, Niall, Liam, Louis and Zayn and forget about that ridiculous dream of the five or four getting back again. And before we forgot, we interviewed the five guys on what they have to say about their group’s break up. Here’s what they said to us.

Niall: Get distracted by my music, think of nothing else but art, I’ll write my loneliness in poems, if I can just think how to start

Harry: We never learn, we been here before, why are we always stuck and running from
The bullets? Just stop your crying, it’s a sign of the times, we gotta get away from here

Liam: You know, I used to be in 1D, now I’m out free. People want me for one thing, that’s not me

Louis: It’s not over ’til it’s all been said, it’s not over ’til your dying breath. So what do you want them to say when you’re gone? That you gave up or that you kept going on?

Zayn: I’m seeing the pain, seeing the pleasure, nobody but you, ‘body but me, ‘body but us. Bodies together

Geek God Review Rate Black

And so we’re using our new rating system to rate their news songs based on their lyrics, melody and music video. For fun, we’ll throw in and consider their number of times played in Spotify, their number of followers in Twitter because Twitter and life and oh Josiah (https://twitter.com/josiahtechy) would be rating the songs for us too, so let’s begin!

Number 5:

Zayn Malik (Pillowtalk)

Score: 2.33 out of 5

We all hate Zayn but we need to be a bit objective here. Or not. Because we don’t like him, we also don’t like Pillowtalk’s lyrics and melody. The lyrics are full of profanity and because we’re Republicans and Conservatives, we don’t subscribe to this. Just kidding. And his music video? Meh. Or okay the melody of that song is kind of cool. He’s on top of Spotify right now due to the fact that he released his song way, way before the others. But on Twitter, he has the fewest followers, yes! Josiah gave him a low score of 1 because he does not like him too, sorry Zayn, you’re the first the leave the group after all.

Zayn

Number 4:

Niall Horan (Slow Hands)

Niall’s horrendous voice and the soooo typical song and music video which both were so 90’s made him rank this low, it was as if he couldn’t let go of those One Direction songs, I mean man move on, or to use Harry’s lyrics: we never learn, we been here before, why are we always stuck and running from the bullets? Luckily he’s on top in Twitter right now in terms followers (surprise! surprise!) beating Harry by mere 100,000 followers I don’t know what’s happening. The melody, the lyrics and the music video all suck, especially the title of the song, I mean “Slow Hands”? I mean kill me now. Josiah like him, luckily, so he got a 4 from him but still there’s no redeeming Niall on this song.

Number 3:

Liam Payne (Strip it Down)

Score: 2.83 out of 5

All (or most) of the lyrics of their new songs pertained to them leaving One Direction but Liam’s song was the most obvious (I used to be in OneD, now I’m free) come on man. Plus in some way it seemed the lyrics were obnoxious (You know, I love it, when the music’s loud. But c’mon, strip that down for me, baby. Now there’s a lot of people in the crowd. But only you can dance with me) I don’t but that’s what we feel. There’s something cringe worthy on the dance steps of the song in the music video but the melody was upbeat so bonus points for that. His Spotify and Twitter score both suck (having been defeated by Louis in third place by a mere 100,000 followers just like Harry. Josiah like him too so he got a 4. Over all, Strip that Down is a wanna be version of Versace on the Floor. And nobody can beat Bruno Mars.

Liam

Number 2:

Harry Styles (Sign of the Times)

Score: 3.67 out of 5

At first look, Harry Style’s Sign of the Times has the most depth at least in terms of its lyrics, and the music video, although at times corny, was hair raising compared to the others’ videos (especially that of Niall, like wtf). But upon closer look, the Sign of the Times was just full of words blabbering about moving on with no positive thing for listeners to grab on, in short it’s negative, too negative to be uplifting especially when your video is about flying and stuff. Surprisingly, Louis defeated him in Spotify in terms of number of times played and Niall in terms of Twitter followers (yeah that’s true). Josiah scored him low because for some reason he does not like Harry and so bad luck for you mate.

Harry

Number 1:

Louis Tomlinson (Just Hold On)

helios-256

Score: 4.00 out of 5

Louis surprisingly rated high in Spotify based on the number of times played and also in Twitter, beating Liam to be in number 3 in terms of followers. It also helped that Josiah like him very much. But Louis deserves to be on the top spot because of several reasons: his lyrics of Just Hold has depth on it and uplifting, like it has a positive message, not just sulking about the end of One Direction. Its melody is like that of Liam’s, upbeat and not boring. His music video was a bit old fashioned but still trendy. And for that Louis wins our One Direction battle!
